Gloria F. (Hall) Throop, age 96 of North East passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at UPMC Hamot.
She was born November 7, 1929 in Erie, PA to the late Glenn William Hall Sr. and Frances Kleckner Hall.
Gloria was a graduate of East High School. She was formerly employed at Electric Materials in the stock room from 1974 to 1986 and Murphy’s for twelve years.
Gloria was an active member of Orchard Beach Assembly of God and a member of Lake Erie Tri-State Club. She enjoyed camping and looked forward to seeing her camping friends every so often. One of her great joys was singing in her church choir. She had many talents; seamstress, crocheting, knitting and beautiful counted cross-stitch. But her greatest joy was her family. She was never happier than when she spent time with her children and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She bragged about them to anyone that would listen.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Barber, second husband, Charles Burdick, third husband Alan G. Throop, brother, Glenn W. Hall, sisters, Beverly Duffin and Bonnie Ziegler, and daughter Diana McKellop.
Gloria is survived by her children, Cheryl Burgess (James), Alan Barber (Teresa), Diane MacDougall, Charles Throop (Patricia), James Throop (Sheri), and Laura Carey; grandchildren Jennifer Nam (Paul), Christopher Burgess (Tonya), Kara Schmidt (Raymond), Jonah Barber (Jacque), Josiah Barber (Allison), Jason Leamer, Melissa Schade (Jason), Mathew Leamer, Rebecca Throop, Kathryn Barnes, Lisa, Jessica, Kimberly, and Kimberly; many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Tuesday 2-7P.M. and are invited to attend a funeral on Wednesday at 10A.M. at the funeral home. Private interment will be at North East Cemetery. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com
